week 2

Picture 2: Eat.Shop.Vancouver.
This sundays fetish is the colour violet-red on a brown surface.
It all begun when I was looking in a guide called Eat.Shop.Vancouver,
and realized that the front page was very well designed and had neat colours.
Later I found a t-shirt print with almost the same colours.
I want it!
So why do I like them?
Looking at the colour wheel tells me that they are pretty close together, both more shaded, but the brown one is more warm and the other cold.
Close together + warm + cool = nice?
I think I better do some research on this..
Also I think this combination overall gives a warm impression, and maybe I like it just because it’s cold outside, and I’m really desperately trying to grab everything that reminds me of spring
and summer?

(and the pic of the book looks really red here, but mine is like that t-shirt print. couldn't managae
to take a descent picture of it though.)

week 2

picture no 1: Fishie goes almost desaturated
I saw those fishes on Granville Island when I was walking there this weekend, I like how
they shine in different shades of grey. I just do. And those pink details and yellow eyes came together
nicely in a very calm colour-combination.
But it were a bit morbid, and I pity those poor fellows.

week 1

picture no 2: Warm, earthly colors
I was on my way upstairs to my room to watch a movie, when I realized that the color combination of the carrots and the old brown plate came together in a very nice way. Made the vegetables look more crispy and delicious. Also I think it's very fitting to have earthly colors to this kind of food.

week 1

picture no 1: Weak vs Strong chroma
One day ago I came across this old commercial. I remembered it from T.V at once. This is the only commercial I've found myself really fond of. It is done to represent a monitor (The Sony Bravida Monitor), and the idea behind it is to show how wide color spectrum it has. I think the result is stunning.
All the rolling and bumping different strong-colored balls captured from different angles in a bleacher city-enviroment. The contrasts are beautiful!
Colors can really make you remember. Not the monitor maybe, but for sure the commercial itself.

to see the commersial itself, surf to http://www.75.tv/index-flash.html, klick on nicolai fulgzig, and choose
sony bravia balls.
